Obituary of Michael R. Sherwood

Michael R. Sherwood beloved son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, age 39, a resident of Chimayo, New Mexico passed away on Sunday July 31, 2022 unexpectedly.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Mabel Sherwood, Godbrother Robert Trujillo, Aunt Erma Montoya, Uncle Dennis Sherwood, Uncle Gilbert Sherwood, Uncle Leroy Sherwood, Cousin Kevin Romero, Uncle Joe Hernandez, Aunt Joann Greigo, Grandmother Esther Griego and Grandfather Clifford Carter. 

Michael is survived by his father Robert Wayne Sherwood, Mother Darlene Carter, mother of his children Dawn Montoya, daughter Janay Sherwood, (son in law:Isaiah), son Isaiah Sherwood (daughter in law Savanna), daughter Jayana Sherwood, other biological son Michael, stepchildren: John Chavez, Justine Chavez, Davonique and Dawniela Alonso, grandchildren: Zaelia, Isaiah, and Jordan, sister Yolanda Sherwood & Jeremiah, nieces: Jasmine, Abigail, Nephews: Gabriel and Jesus, Aunts: Godmother Corine Sherwood Martinez & Jerry, Della Sherwood, Debbie sherwood, Judy Sherwood, Patty Sherwood, Uncles Carlos Sherwood, Albert Sherwood, Sammy Sherwood, Earl Sherwood & Irene, and lots of cousins and family members.

Loved ones listed as honorary pallbearers: Isaiah Sherwood, John Chavez, Isaiah Cantu, Keith Romero, Marcelino Herrera, and Jerry Martinez. 

Michael was a very loving and caring person with a contagious smile. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren. He was very talented in so many ways. He loved playing the guitar, loved being a tattoo artist, and loved his career as a carpenter and built so many houses. 

The family of Michael R. Sherwood has entrusted the care of their loved one to the Riverside Funeral Home.
