Salvador Arvizu

Obituary of Salvador Arvizu

Salvador Arvizu, 82, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2022, after suffering from a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Salvador was born in Nuevo Madera Chihuahua, Mexico, (June 22, 1940), but for over 50 years called New Mexico home. He worked in the dairy industry for over 40 years and his lifelong interests include ranching, horseback riding, and farming. After many trials and tribulations to gain citizenship, Salvador continued his focus and studies, and considered one of his greatest achievements becoming a United States citizen.

Salvador is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Annette Arvizu, and was a loving father to Javier Arvizu (wife Agueda Sosa); stepdaughter Melissa Weathers (husband Randy Weathers); and is preceded in death by his adoring son, Erik Arvizu. Salvador was blessed with six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

Salvador will be remembered from his kind, generous, and loving spirit. He was known to friends and family as one of the first to roll-up his sleeves and lend a hand, regardless of the need. He will also be remembered for his great fondness of cowboy hats, cowboy boots, and beautiful bolo ties. He was a true cowboy, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, a devoted Catholic, and will be forever missed.
