Obituary of José Ernesto Guzmán

José (Joe) (Papa Joe) Ernesto Guzmán

 

 

José Ernesto Guzmán age 79 died September 28th, 2022 in Los Lunas, New Mexico surrounded by love and his family. Joe was a resident of Truth or Consequences.

 

Joe was born January 14, 1943 to Delfina and Jesus Guzman both deceased. Joe married Amadita Lucero on August 27th, 1960 in Las Cruces New Mexico and they were married until her death in 2003. They had four daughters.

 

Joe was in the Army honorably discharged and the New Mexico National Guard retired for a combined 27 years and retired as an E7 Sergeant. He received numerous letters of appreciation and letters of achievement for his service. He was proud of his service to the country.

 

Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman until his health declined. He spent time collecting small cars and coins. Joe became an avid cruiser with his daughters and family. He loved visiting exotic ports and meeting people. His favorite thing was to sit on his room balcony, watch the sea, and drink his coffee. He very much enjoyed the cruise freedom that his onboard scooter gave him. He was able to experience one last cruise with his daughters and his grandchildren thanks to the dedicated care of Dr. Vashista, and his staff at the VA.

 

Joe is survived by his four daughters.

Joann Aronow husband (Walter), grand daughter Melody Fisher husband (Donald), great grand children Makenna Fisher, and Dillon Fisher. Grand sons Zachary, Micheal partner (Alexandra) ,Alex partner (Christa) Aronow. Great grand daughter Paisley Aronow.

 

Patricia Guzman grandson Joe Guzman wife (Gloria), great grand son Joseph Guzman, great grand daughters Aiyana, Shauntai, Annalise Guzman.

Grand daughter Aliyah Guzman partner (Desirae), and great grandson Izaiah Guzman.

 

Cynthia Gaytan grand daughter Desiree Montoya Husband (Mario). Great grandson Dominic Montoya.

 

Juliet Sullivan grand daughter Brianna Sullivan and grand son Chas Sullivan.

 

Joe’s surviving siblings Micheal Guzman, Josephine Silva, Dolores Lobato, and Ellen Ramirez. Deceased siblings Charlie Baca, and Jimmy Guzman. Joe also had many nieces and nephews he loved dearly.

 

Care givers Christopher Garcia, Rachael Rivera, and Anita Ramos. To whom the family is eternally grateful.

Visitation will be Thursday October 6th,2002 at Riverside Funeral home in Los Lunas, New Mexico at 6:00 pm. Funeral services held on October 7th, 2022 at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help in Truth or Consequences New Mexico at 11:00 am. There will be a 1 hour viewing prior to the funeral service.

 

Joe was loved by many and many loved him.
