Frank Guillén

Obituary of Frank Guillén

Frank was born May 18, 1936, in Leadville, Colorado, to Antonio and Estephanita Guillén. He went to meet his creator at 9:07pm on October 21, 2022, at his home in Alcalde, New Mexico, surrounded by his loving wife of 66 years Esperanza, and loved ones.

Frank was one of 13 brothers and sisters. He graduated from Espanola High School and married Esperanza Hurtado from Holman, New Mexico on July 2, 1956. Frank and Esperanza moved to California where he worked at the General Motors Facility. He returned to Alcalde with his wife and four children in 1964.

Frank trained as an automotive mechanic in Raton, gained work experience at the Espanola Chevrolet dealership and Ray's Auto Shop. In 1969 he opened Frank's Auto Service where he helped many families from around the area, the state and visiting travelers. Known for personal caring, fair and honest service, his business never had a lack of clients (some clients running to the 3 generation). His services were in demand until illness forced him to close shop after 52 years in business.

Frank didn't like to sit still for long. He was active in helping raise his daughter, Yolanda, and 3 sons: Diego, Mario and Dino. Frank could be seen with his family working around the house, hauling wood, rafting down the Rio Grande, fishing, vacationing, and more, but always having his family by his side (teaching them by example).

Frank believed in love for God, love for his wife Esperanza, and love for his children, Yolanda, Diego, Mario, and Dino.

We love you and will miss you very much dad!
