Obituary of Kathryn Joy Calvillo

   On Sunday, November 13, Kathryn Joy Calvillo, a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side. Born to Neva and Frank Warm on November 4th, 1954 in Wilmington, Delaware. Kathy was the wife of David Calvillo. Kathy and David met at a party in Glendora, not even six months later the two eloped in Las Vegas. Kathy and David enjoyed nearly 40 years of marriage. Kathy and David also shared five amazing children together, Robbie, Ryan, Shawn, Chris(Samantha. Spouse), and Brandi( Andrey. spouse). In addition to being a loving mother, Kathy has four beautiful grandchildren; Alexis, Aylani, Annika, and Izzy who she loved dearly. 

   Kathy served her community for 28 years working for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier. Kathy had a special bond with her customers, working the same route for nearly twenty years. In addition to working and being a full-time mother, Kathy had many hobbies. Kathy was in competitive bowling leagues for many years of her life, traveling out of state for tournaments and making many lifelong friends. Kathy also enjoyed many sports throughout her high school years. Kathy played in her school's volleyball team and was a part of her school's first woman's basketball team. She continued her education at Rio Hondo College, pursuing an associate's degree in arts and behavioral studies. In recent years, Kathy thoroughly enjoyed learning new recipes and trying new cooking techniques. She specialized in pies, specifically apple pies. This is just a glimpse into Kathy’s beautiful life. Kathy never stopped learning and loving. 

   Kathryn Joy Calvillo was loved by all. Her family would describe her as kind, giving, hardworking, with an amazingly large heart, and an amazing wife and mother. Kathy enjoyed being a part of everyone's lives. She touched everyone she met, leaving them with Joy in their hearts.

Services for Kathy Joy Calvillo will be held in private with her family.
