Obituary of Isabell Anderson

On the morning of December 16, 2022, Isabell Anderson a loving mother, sister, grandmother, friend, and colleague passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side at the age of 86. She grew up on the Diné (Navajo) Nation in Fort Defiance, AZ and moved to Albuquerque, NM soon after retirement. Isabell became a Nurse’s Aide and changed careers to become a motor coach operator for the Navajo Transit System. She was very proud to be the first of two women to ever drive for the Navajo Nation Transit System and after 22 years of loyal service, she retired in 2001 and moved to Albuquerque, NM to be nearer to her family. Isabell always put family first although worked tirelessly to serve our Diné people. She is survived by her four children Louis Anderson Jr., Diane Sanchez, Theresa Clay, Darrell Banward, nine grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren plus cousins, nieces and nephews. Isabell is proceeded in death by her parents Jimmy and Sophie Begay of Sawmill, AZ, brothers Perry and Thurman Begay, son Robert Anderson, and grandchildren Fulbert Fowler and Octaviano Sedillo. A public celebration of life service and reception to be held at Anchor Point Church, 6751 Pasilla Road, Rio Rancho, NM. Date and time to be determined.
