Obituary of Mauricia Cecelia Padilla Gutierrez

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mauricia Gutierrez, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and to all whose lives she touched. Mauricia, 96 passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 10, 2023 to be with our Lord, she was surrounded by her family in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Mauricia was born on July 2, 1926 in  Albuquerque, New Mexico to Christobal and Maria Lena Padilla. Where she grew up and graduated from Albuquerque High School and retired after 40 dedicated years at Montgomery Wards in invoice records. She lived the remaining 23 years in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Mauricia nurtured her family with devotion, truthfulness and an unmatched sense of humor.  She loved to garden, read, do word puzzles, watch her favorite show "Jeopardy", listen to music, sing, go to the casino, tell jokes and laugh.

She is preceded in death by her father Christobal Padilla, mother Maria Lena Padilla, siblings Annie Piper, Mary Lovato, Helen Herrera, Susan Robles, Buddy Padilla and son-in-law Leonard Jaramillo.She is survived by her daughters Jeannie (Louie) Garcia, Linda Jaramillo, Margaret (Larry Don) Andrews, Mary Lena (Mickey) Johnson, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, sister-in-law Rita Padilla and several nieces and nephews.

The family wants to thank Sheryl her nurse, hospice staff and Ambercare for all their loving care they provided to Mauricia. And special thanks to Doralynn Garcia her granddaughter for all the loving care she provided to her grandmother.

Services will take place, Friday, March 3, 2023, at 9:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints.
