Obituary of Antonio Diego Sandoval

Antonio Diego “Orlando” Sandoval, 78, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on January 30, 2023.

Orlando was born in Las Vegas, NM on May 8, 1944, to Diego and Emma Sandoval.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; Diego and Emma Sandoval, brother; Jimmy Sandoval sisters; Martha Mascarenas, Mary Garza and Susie Vigil, and granddaughter; Diane Richie.

Orlando leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Irene Sandoval, sister; Dolores Martinez, kids; Jeanette and George Apodaca: Marvin Sandoval and Geri Garcia; Ray and Doris Sandoval; Cathee and Sameer Hawash; Grandkids Lyla and Patricio Maestas, Ayla Apodaca, Aaliyah Apodaca, Isaiah and Margo Apodaca, Anthony and Iris Sandoval, Daniel and Mariah Sandoval, Chris Sandoval, 10 Great Grandkids, 2 Great Great Grandkids, numerous nieces, and nephews.

His family was his pride and joy and he loved spending time together especially during football season to watch his Denver Broncos. He enjoyed long drives on his trike on summer days. He loved being outside. He enjoyed making people laugh and listening to music on the porch, smoking and telling stories from the good old days.

The family would like to thank Ambercare and those who were there during this difficult time. We would also like to give a special thank you to his nieces Georgette and Patricia (his big girls) and their family for all the love and support.
