Obituary of Perfectita Chavez

Perfectita age 86 passed away peacefully on February 3rd 2023 in Cuba, New Mexico. She was born on January 24th 1937 in Cuba to Edumenia and Jose Montoya. She grew up in Cuba and later moved to Albuquerque after she married in 1954. She was a dedicated wife and mother and only worked outside of the home after her children were grown. She loved her family and was always there to care for her grandchildren, whether it was in Cuba, Rio Rancho, or Phoenix. She moved back to Cuba in 1977 to live on the ranch with her two children Joan and Joey. Times were challenging on the ranch but she did not complain and never wanted to leave. She taught her children by example, to stay strong in faith no matter what you face in life. Perfectita is survived by her children Ann Massey (Aaron) of Cuba, Joan Molina (Jerry) of Rio Rancho, Joey Chavez (Stephanie) of Phoenix. Grandchildren Vincent Saiz, Allison Salaz (John) Edward Saiz (Steph) Michael Molina, Kaitlyn Chavez, Joey Jr. Chavez, Destiny Chavez and Braeden Chavez. Great grandchildren Soliana Saiz, Eulalia Saiz, and Mavis Saiz. Her sister Gloria Montoya and her brother Leroy Montoya and many nieces and nephews. Perfectita is preceded in death by her Husband Joe, her first daughter Anna her son Freddie her daughter Cindy and her grandson Brandon Molina, her mother Edumenia her father Jose Montoya and siblings Feliciano Montoya, Daniel Montoya, Carmen Montenegro, Emma Garcia, Fito Zaplin, Nick Montoya, Mena Montoya. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Riverside Funeral Home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Services will take place in Cuba, New Mexico at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday February 15th starting at 9:00am with a viewing, a rosary at 10:00am and a Mass at 11:00am. Burial at the Cuba Catholic Cemetery and a reception to follow at the Parish Hall. The family of Perfectita would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Roadrunner Hospice for the care that they provided for the last two years and for all the prayers and support from family and friends.
