Obituary of Barbara Fallon

On the morning of February 6th, 2023, Barbara Fallon of Bay City, Michigan passed peacefully at the home of her son and daughter-in-law at Cedar Crest, New Mexico following a short illness.

Born in 1924 to Arthur and Hazel Doolittle, Barbara grew up on the shore of Lake Michigan in Muskegon. After graduation from Muskegon HS, Class of 1944, she was employed at Sealed Power Piston ring factory and served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross during the dark days of WWII.

In 1948 Barbara married the late Thomas E. Fallon, a former city editor at the Muskegon Chronicle and editor of the Bay City Times. The couple happily together for 59 years and raising one son, Thomas K. Mrs. Fallon was also an employee ad Krautheim Fine Jewelers, downtown Muskegon prior to locating to Bay City, Michigan in 1969.

A long time resident at Bay Valley, Barb was a member of the Bay City Country Club, Saginaw Club, and Saginaw Bay Yacht Club. Kind and engaging to all, and elegant dresser, she was an avid photographer, capturing many intriguing people as well as many stunning nature images.

One of our “Greatest Generation’” survivors are her son Thomas with wife Cleotilde along with grandchildren: Melissa Gutierrez, Crystal Williams, Glen Garcia, Mario and Jordan Gutierrez, all of New Mexico. In her home state, special niece Michelle Greer (Chuck), nephew Jim Larsen (Rachel), of Muskegon, dearest cousin Marian Dausey and girls at White Lake, as well as special friends Dolores Rogers and Ms. Carol Hardy of Bay City.
