Jeamsiean Price

Obituary of Jeamsiean Edith Price

Jeamsie was born in Valdez, Alaska to Elridge and Edith Price. Six weeks later the family returned to Texas. She grew up on a ranch in Ballinger, Tx where her love of horses began. Although she never learned to ride a bicycle, she did know how to ride horses.

Jeamsie was the youngest of six. The family was involved with the oil business. She grew up traveling to most of the lower 48 states and Central America. After attending the University of Texas, she started doing what she loved best, teaching. She taught in schools in Lubbock, Oklahoma City and later on in life, Ruidoso, NM. In 1966 she joined Pavla. Her assignment took her to Chile where she taught for four years.

After returning to the States, she settled outside of Ft Worth, TX and went to work as personnel manager for Blackmon Mooring Company. In 1986, Jeamsie began a new chapter in her life. She was chosen to be Chapel Coordinator of the Chapel of Light in Whitney, TX. In February 1986 Jeamsie was licensed as a Non-denominational minister which was a defining moment in her life. Her belief in the greatness of spirit made her able to connect with people in all aspects of life. She served as chaplain of the Peace Chapel in Alto, NM from 1988 to 2012. From 1991 to 2012 Jeamsie was the Chaplain for Ruidoso Home Health Care and Hospice. During that time Jeamsie was asked to write a column for the monthly newsletter. The letters talked about handling grief and sorrow, but also to enjoy all moments of life. Jeamsie would often quote Ram Dass by saying that one purpose in our lives was to help in “Walking each other home”. Throughout her life, Jeamsie taught us all about the Love that is all around us.

In lieu of flowers, Jeamsie would be honored to have donations made in her name to your favorite charity or local Humane Society. In honor of Jeamsie’s request, services are pending.

As her friend Tanya said, “Once upon a time she touched our life, our hearts, our souls in ways we never imagined possible…Once upon a time she made a difference in our lives and the world that will last forevermore!
