Obituary of Ida Trujillo

Ida Trujillo, devoted Jehovah’s Witness, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend died Sunday, March 5th, 2023, at the age of 85 surrounded by those who loved her. Ida was born in Morenci, Arizona on May 15th, 1937, to Timoteo and Julia Sambrano. She was raised in Clifton, Arizona, and in 1953  she married Matildo “Bob” Trujillo. In 1959 they moved their young family to Albuquerque, New Mexico. They had three children, Robert, Josephine, and Steven. Ida worked as a leasing agent and was loved and respected, creating lifelong relationships with many of her tenants.

Ida was baptized in 1973 and served faithfully until her death. She joyfully served at the East & Waterfall congregations. Through her faith, she made many close and personal friends, and she often opened her home in the service of Jehovah.

Ida was a gifted cook and gardener. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, and knitting. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She received much joy from hosting her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You could never leave Ida’s house without a full belly and full heart. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Matildo Trujillo, son Robert Trujillo, and father Timoteo Sambrano. She is survived by her mother Julia Sambrano, daughter Josephine Trujillo, son Steven Trujillo, daughter in law Barbara Gauna Trujillo, daughter in law Brenda Lujan, sister Carmen Tower, brother Pete Sambrano, brother Timoteo Sambrano and his wife Ella Sambrano. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nieve Gallegos and her husband David Gallegos, Richard Trujillo, Amber Trujillo-Vizcarra and her husband Marco Vizcarra, Zachary Trujillo and his wife Amanda Maes, Jessica Trujillo Solon and her husband Michael Solon, Steve Trujillo and his wife Maurria Whipple Trujillo. Additionally, she is survived by her beloved great-grandchildren Fionna, Diego, Matthias, Tristan, Matilda, Stevie Joan, Arthur, and Steven Robert.

Religious services will be held at Waterfall Kingdom Hall on Monday, March 20th at 6:00 pm. All are welcome to attend. The address and Zoom link are listed below for those who would like to attend in person or virtually. A private celebration of life will be held for the family later this June to honor both Ida and Bob.
