Marion Henry Lowrey

Obituary of Marion Henry Lowrey

Marion, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend to many, left this world peacefully at home, surrounded by family On March 1st, 2023. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. She had an enormous love for her family, a fierce passion for books, flowers, music, and laughter. She had a witty sense of humor, and rarely met a person who wasn't welcome in her home. "The more the merrier" was a saying of hers heard often. She was very kind, loving, selfless, and always pulling for the "underdog". Marion was very charitable, donating not only money, but countless hours to charities. She was truly the hub of the family and our hearts are broken with her gone. She was intuitive, perceptive, could make anyone feel special and was always comforting when people would bring their troubles to her. Her love of spring flowers, sunshine, her mastery of words and the English language was impressive. She was truly "one of a kind".

Marion is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joseph Lowrey, Her children, Diana Mitchell and late husband Bill, Elizabeth Jones and husband Greg, Johanna Salter and husband Billy, Stephen Lowrey and wife Patricia, Paul Lowrey, Leigh Anne Snider and husband Buck. She had thirteen grandchildren, Megan Radzevych, Lauren McCoy, Justin Jones, Giovanna Giacomo, Katlyn Harris, Nicole Davidson, Stevie Lowrey, Jordyn Snider, Kimberly Wilson, Luke Jones, Bradley Mitchell, Jenna Elwood, and Hunter Salter, and eighteen great-grandchildren.

To honor Marion's wishes, when the sun is warm, flowers in bloom, and birds singing, we will have a "Celebration of Life" to honor her and lay her to rest, at her favorite setting, in the mountains, above the river.

In lieu of flowers please consider sharing the joy of fresh flowers with a living person or to a charity of your choice as she had many.
