Annabell Vigil

Obituary of Annabell Vigil

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our sister and mother Annabell Vigil on March 20, 2023. The angels of St Francis of Assisi were present and smiling on her in San Francisco where she was born on October 13,1944, for the patron saint’s love of animals rubbed off on Annabell, as manifested by her affection and devotion to her pet dog, Buddy.

After WW II she returned with her parents to Santa Fe, where she attended public school and graduated from Santa Fe High in 1962. She later attended college and had a career working for small businesses as a bookkeeper and accountant. She was a hard-working person who was gentle, kind, and most of all, loving to her family and others. She never complained about the challenges and tribulations she faced in her lifetime, including cancer which she beat, but rather confronted them with grit and determination.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Beatrice Lopez, her daughter Pilar Vigil, her former husband Jake Vigil, and sister and brother in-law, Lucille and Bernie Vigil. She is survived by her children Peter Vigil and Jacob Vigil (Sara), and grandchildren Santiago and Richie Vigil, stepchildren Demica Vigil (Hernan) and Kimela Vigil, as well as her siblings, Alonzo Lopez (Angela), Gloria Lopez, Mela Vigil, Verna Jaramillo and Manuel Lopez (Maria). She is also survived by her uncle and aunt Joe and Gregoria Tafoya, as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 9:30 am at San Ysidro Church, 5015 Corrales Rd. Corrales, NM 87048. Mass will follow at 10 am and thereafter burial will take place followed by a reception. The family of Annabell Vigil has entrusted her care to Riverside Funeral Home. (505) 240-6663.
