Obituary of Ruth Ann McKenney

Ruth McKenney died April 19, 2023.   She was a native New Mexican and a resident of Rio Rancho.

 

Ruth had advanced college degrees and her entire career was devoted to diagnosing and helping children with learning disabilities.  She worked in Houston, California, and, finally, in Albuquerque.

 

As she was preparing to retire, a rare Parkinsonian disease, Multiple System Atrophy struck her.

 

She leaves behind a husband of close to 50 years, Edward A. McKenney of Rio Rancho.

 

Her true legacy is the hundreds and hundreds of children she helped throughout the years.

 

At her request, there will be no funeral or memorial services.  However, her family encourages her friends and coworkers to take a moment to remember her and the good work she did for children.
