Obituary of Jose Orlando Trujillo

On the morning of May 19, 2023, after a tough battle with cancer Jose Orlando Trujillo was carried away by angels to a beautiful Heavenly place where he will never be in pain again. He was born in Trujillo, NM on April 27, 1940 and relocated with his family to Albuquerque where he was a 1958 graduate of Valley High School. Soon after he met the love of his life Cecilia, who he married and together they made their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Those left to cherish Orlando’s memory are his daughter Cathy Grogman, his grandson Alex Grogman, three step daughters Virginia, Evelyn and Debra, three sisters Mollie, Josie and Margie, six grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Orlando is preceded in death by his wife Cecilia Trujillo, his parents Demecio and Conferina Trujillo, his brothers Tony, Cipriano, Melecio and his sisters Stella, Martha and Agnes. Orlando was a man of honor who faithfully served as active duty for his country during the Vietnam War. After his service he returned to Albuquerque where he continued his employment on Kirtland Air Force Base until his retirement. Orlando enjoyed reminiscing about his life. He told stories about his childhood, as he grew up through his teenage years and throughout his military life. Even about the day he fell in love. Orlando loved to go dancing at the Solo Club where he was a member for many years. Most days Orlando was perfectly content in his own home relaxing in his favorite chair, eating green chile stew and watching a good western. Orlando was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend with a huge heart. He will never truly be gone. His spirit lives on in the memories of those who loved him.
