Obituary of Michael Shea

On May 25, 2023, Michael Shea, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at age 75.

Michael was born in Chicago, Ill. to John and Dorothy Shea and the family later relocated to Phoenix Arizona.

His parents, brother John Jr., and sister Patricia Carol preceded him in death.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie, two daughters Taryn Day and husband Sean, Katie Boneson and husband Chad, grandchildren Sean Jr. and Kierstyn, and his dog Tipsy.

Michael is a Vietnam Veteran. After serving in the Coast Guard, he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and journalism. He worked for the N.M. Federation of Labor AFL-CIO where he passionately advocated for worker’s rights.

His hobbies included an enthusiasm for collecting and running toy trains, watching old black-and-white movies, and listening to music from the Big Band era.

Services are being held at Immaculate Conception Church in Tomé, NM
