Obituary of Flaviano Bonifacio Lucero
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Flaviano Bonifacio Lucero of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Born on June 5, 1942, in Chilili, New Mexico to Nepomoseno and Helen (Marques) Lucero, Flaviano passed away on May 18, 2023.
Flaviano was one of eight children. He is preceded in death by his parents Nepomoseno and Helen Lucero and his brother Gilbert Lucero.
Flaviano is survived by his two sons, Jason Lucero (wife Laura), Jacques Lucero, his siblings Priscilla (Lucero) Sanchez, Lorella (Lucero) Jaramillo, Robert Lucero, Toby Lucero, Roy Lucero, Rick Lucero and many family members.
After graduating from Rio Grande High School, Flaviano enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served 8 years. He earned an Honorable Discharge and several medals including:
· -Good Conduct Medal w/1 star
· -National Defense Service Medal
· -Vietnam Service Medal w/1 star
· -Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device
Flaviano worked for and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Albuquerque. Flaviano served as an Officer at American Legion Post 13 in Albuquerque. He enjoyed owning and working with horses. He became a licensed farrier and racehorse trainer.
He cared deeply for his family, and he will be missed by many.
There will be a committal service for Flaviano Lucero at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe.
