Obituary of Maria Estella Sedillo
Maria Estella Sedillo, born August 24, 1942 in Antonio Escobar San Juanito, Jalisco Mexico passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 1, 2023 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 80. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Lina Martinez, her husband Boleslo Sedillo, her brothers Miguel and Ezequiel, and her sister Cuca. She is also survived by her brother Santiago Martinez, her sister Leticia Campos of California, and her sisters Ramona and Panchita (Kiko) of Mexico. She is also survived by three loving children David Sedillo (Berlin), Maria Elena Montano (Rick), Martha Sedillo, by her grandchildren Nichole, Celeste, Jacob, Ricky, Miranda, Joshua, and four great- grandchildren Samara, Benjamin, Emilio and Judah and many loving adoring nieces and nephews.
Maria married Boleslo Sedillo of Torreon, NM in 1963 and their union lasted until 1980 when her loving husband passed. She loved staying in touch with her siblings and spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching her novellas and making tortillas. She enjoyed gardening, and especially taking care of her beautiful rose gardens. She began working after third grade to help support her family, and was a hard worker for the remainder of her life. Later in life and after the death of her husband, she successfully passed her citizenship test to become an American citizen. She was a strong-willed woman.
Services will be held on Tuesday June 20, 2023 at Holy Family Church, located at 562 Atrisco Dr. SW Albuquerque, New Mexico 87105. 9:00am - 9:30am viewing, 9:30am - 10:00am rosary, 10:00am – 11:00am mass. Followed by on-site burial services at Santa Fe National Cemetery located at N. Guadalupe St, Santa Fe New Mexico at 2:00pm. Pallbearers; David Sedillo, Rick Montano, Andrew Rael, Jacob Sedillo, Ricky Montano, and Joshua Montano.
Jesus said to the man on the cross, today you will be with me in the Garden. Maria accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and is with Jesus in the Garden.
