Obituary of Isidro Romero Jr
You can shed tears that he is gone,
Or you can smile because he lived,
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him Or you can be full of the love that you shared,
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he is gone Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on,
You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what he would want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Isidro Romero Jr, 94, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed peacefully in his sleep on May 27, 2023 at his home in Socorro. Isidro was born on May 15, 1929 in Albuquerque, NM to Isidro and Elisa “Castillo” Romero. On August of 1953 Isidro Jr married Cecilia “Gallegos” Romero. Together they had four children, Frank, Nancy, Bennie and David. He is survived by his four children, grandsons, Jacob and Kaleb, his brothers, Roman, Albert, Leandro, and sister Sara. He is preceded in death by his wife Cecilia, and his brothers, Gilbert, and Ismael, and sisters Lazara, and Crusita.
Isidro had a long career of being a mechanic, and on weekends enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, making wine, and spending time with family and friends. Isidro worked at Socorro Motors as a Service Manager, and later opened his own business, Romero’s 66, and because he didn’t own the building, he and Cecilia later purchased their own place and changed the company name to Sidro’s Wheel Alignment, where he worked alongside his wife and two boys. Always quick with a pun or tale of mischief from his years growing up in Lemitar, he loved sharing the happiness he found in life with those around him. His greatest joy in life was family and friends. He loved being a husband, and father, but most of all he loved being a grandfather. He was nicknamed Bubble Wrap by his grandsons due to his humorous antics, bumps and bruises.
