Obituary of Melquiadez Sanchez

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, Melquiadez (Mel) Sanchez passed away peacefully in his home on June 10th, 2023 at the age of 87. He is survived by his loving family; daughter Sandra Castillo and Son Bruce Sanchez. He was born in Punte de Agua, New Mexico on October 25th, 1935 and enjoyed a childhood filled with the love of his four sisters, Regina Griego, Ramona Mosely, Tina Roybal and Angie Sanchez along with one brother Rudy Sanchez. His parents instilled a lifelong passion for family and faith. He loved the simple life based in the principals of honor as a man of dignity. Mel met his wife Jane in Mountainair in 1960 and bonded over their mutual love and appreciation for each other. They continued to share this love throughout their 50 years of a happy loving marriage. In their fruitful loving relationship they were blessed with 3 wonderful children. Throughout the years their bond grew as they shared a love for their family and the love of Christ. He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Ted, Andrew and Roxanne Moya. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Jane Sanchez and their blessed son Eric Sanchez. We mourn his loss and also celebrate the grace of God’s mercy in the promise of everlasting life. As he is welcomed by those awaiting his arrival into the beautiful gardens of heaven. Today we rejoice as he is warmly welcomed into the arms of our lord Jesus Christ. The funeral will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. N.E. Thursday 22nd of June, 11:00 am. All friends and family are welcome to share in honor of a beautiful life lived by a wonderful loved man.
