Obituary of Lee Courtney

Lee Courtney, aged 70, of Pecos, New Mexico, passed away at his home on Monday, July 10th, 2023, of natural causes.

He was born April 27th, 1953, in Monterey Park, California, to the late Bob and Rene Courtney. He attended Ganesha High School in Pomona, California, and graduated from New Mexico Tech in Socorro, New Mexico in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. During his time at NM Tech, he met and married the love of his life, Linda Gibson. Lee’s business talents quickly led to his career success in multiple industries including water treatment and most recently partial ownership of a large equipment autoclave production company. His career ventures led him and his family all over the world, forging strong friendships across Canada, Japan, England, Singapore, and beyond. Lee’s larger-than-life personality and immense generosity was readily apparent to all who met him.

In his retirement, Lee donated his time to the Pecos Valley Medical Center, served as the #1 Best Math Tutor to his grandchildren, and devoted countless hours to developing his wife’s life-long dream cabin in the mountains. We will forever remember him as a devoted husband, Pops, Grandpa Popeye, mentor, and friend. Keep on truckin’ Lee!

Lee is survived by his wife, Linda; his son, Michael; his daughter, Kelly; his niece, Heather; his three granddaughters, Ava, Claire, and Elizabeth; and his three sisters, Chris, Terry, and Sue. He is further survived by nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on the property of Lee and Linda in the upcoming months. More information will be distributed when details are finalized.
