Obituary of Abigail Ellen Miller
Abigail was born on August 5, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY to Algot and Harriette (Meeker) Carlson. She received her bachelor's degree from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY and worked as a teacher in the Aurora Public School District in Colorado and Thelma Nelson Private School before becoming a Library Technician on the Auraria Campus in Denver, CO until her retirement. On June 14,1961, she married Scott Miller and they raised Janene and Scott (Scott's children from a previous marriage) as well as their own children, Ellen and David. She and Scott divorced in 1979.
After Abigail retired, she moved to Moriarty, NM to learn more about the Philosophy of Universal Beingness within the Whole. She had a green thumb and loved growing houseplants and working in her yard. She faithfully fed birds and rabbits and delighted in seeing them eat the birdseed she put out for them. She loved listening to classical music as she worked on her jigsaw puzzles.
Abigail was preceded in death by her father Algot, her mother Harriette, her brother Jan, and her son David. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Black, her son-in-law Reagan Black, two granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, and several cousins and nieces.
She will be interred in Hyer Cemetery in Stanley, NM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Albuquerque Biopark (https://www.bioparksociety.org)
