Obituary of Jay H. Bomaster
Jay H. Bomaster passed away peacefully in his home July 11, 2023. He was born October 2, 1932, in Gaastra, MI. to Ernest and Doris Bomaster.
Jay lived a life packed with joy and many accomplishments. He was in the National Guard. He was a printer by trade and retired from The Print Shop at UNM. He bartended at Caravan East for Bill Smith until Bill offered him the Extra Point Lounge next door. From there he took over Friars North until he sold that and took over Sandia Bowl. E sold that business and ran the Beach waterpark for the next 10 years, while opening Boot Scoots Country Bar. After he left the Beach waterpark, he managed several Pizza Huts.
Jay was a hardworking, caring, compassionate man. He remembered birthdays and personally called them on their day. He would always ask about the people he cared for and was the most generous person. He loved to play dice and was very good at it. Lo loved golf and played until his knees wouldn't let him anymore, but he watched the pros on TV. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs. basketball, any sport pretty much on TV.
He is survived by his son Bucky, grandchildren Millie and Joshua; his daughter Carolyn (Ron), grandchildren Race, Skylar; his daughter Jayette; his brother Chet Bomaster and sister Gloria Wilkerson (Jayette's mother)
Jay loved going to Calvary Church until his mobility wouldn't allow. He even rented out the Beach waterpark to Calvary Church multiple years, where many people got baptized in the wave pool.
