Obituary of Nancy Landskroener

In loving memory of Nancy Landskroener, 73, of Albuquerque, NM, who passed away on July 28, 2023.

Nancy was born on May 6, 1950, in Chestertown, Maryland to her parents, Theodore William Landskroener and Kathleen Bottomley Landskroener. As the eldest of five siblings, she brought joy and love to her family. Nancy earned her degree in geology from East Carolina University in 1972 and briefly worked for the family business, Delmarva Sash and Door, before embarking on a road trip that eventually led her to Albuquerque.

Throughout her life, Nancy found immense joy in cooking, reading books, and devoted herself to raising her twin daughters single-handedly. Her dedication to her family and friends was unwavering, and her love for her daughters, Caitlin Vinyard and Christian (Krissy) Landskroener, knew no bounds. She also held a special place in her heart for her son-in-law, Paul Vinyard, and adored her grandchildren, Michael and Mackenzie Vinyard, her grand-dogs Chessie, Bear, Remington and soon to be son-in-law Stephen Smith. 

Nancy is preceded in death by her loving parents and children’s father, Dennis Hammar and leaves behind cherished memories with her brothers and their spouses: Christian and Marcia Landskroener, Jim and Diane Landskroener, David and Sue Landskroener, and John Landskroener. She will also be remembered fondly by her nine nieces and nephews. Additionally, she is survived by her brother-in-law, Kevin Hammar, and Kathy Brandt Hammar and many friends who became her family. 

In this time of loss, let us remember Nancy for her warm heart, love for literature, and her devotion to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul rest in peace. Services will be held on August 30, 2023 at 10:30 am at Hope in the Desert Episcopal Church, 8700 Alameda Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87122 with a reception to follow at Seasons Rotisserie & Grill, 2031 Mountain Rd. NW Albuquerque, NM 87104.
