Obituary of Rita Lynn Wyrick
Rita Lynn Höy Wyrick peacefully passed away at her home in New Mexico, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, July 30, 2023. She had successfully managed advanced stage breast cancer for over three years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, and friend.
Born in Santa Rosa, California in 1970, Rita was the youngest daughter of Karin and Jørgen Höy. She had two siblings, Carl Johan Höy, who died as a baby, and Lydia Höy Zipp who currently resides in Carmichael, California.
Rita loved the outdoors. Her favorite outdoor activities were swimming, camping, hiking, skiing, skating, sledding, and pretty much any sport that would help her move faster through this wild world. She was brave, kind, and an excellent baker, but most of all, she was a loyal family member and friend.
She moved to New Mexico in the early 1990’s where she met her husband, Everette Wyrick. In 1996, their son Alexander Jorgen (A.J.) was born. He was the light of her life.
She is survived by her beloved family, her husband, Everette D. Wyrick, son, Alexander Jorgen Wyrick Höy, sister, Lydia Höy Zipp, brother-in-law, Rickey D. Zipp, several cousins from California, Oregon, Norway, and Denmark, her Mother-in-Law Sharon Rivera, Wyrick family In-Laws, Raymond Wyrick, Cherry Lucero, and Sharah Gall, as well as her nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends from all over the world. Rita's bright energy and love of life will never dim and will always shine brightly in our hearts.
