Obituary of Sandra Renee Mays

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sandra Renee Mays, on June 20, 2023. Known to family and friends as “Tanny”, she left us sleeping peacefully at her residence in Albuquerque, NM.

She was born to parents Howard L Shaw and Lucille E Witte on March 8, 1956 in Bethesda, MD. She was 67 years old.

Tanny met Edward Mays in 1990 and they were married on December 29, 1990. Together they raised one daughter, Shawna Rose Mays.
Tanny worked as a Data Entry Analyst at Sandia National Labs for 35 years until she retired in 2018. She loved Halloween parties, arts and crafts, and of course, Gnomes!

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and friend to all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her family, husband Edward Mays, daughter Shawna Mays, sister Callie Habish, brother-in-law Terry Habish, and stepsister Karen Varga. Niece and Nephew, Brandon Mosley and Alisha Hull. Step nieces, Alice , Becky and Amanda.

Arrangements were made by Riverside Funeral Home, and a small family burial service at Sunset Memorial where she was laid to rest with her Mom and Stepdad. Volunteer Chaplain David officiated the ceremony. Followed by A Celebration of Life get together that was held at Tannys, Eds, and Shawna's residence.

Tanny, we will always carry your memory in our hearts for we will always think of you and you will have never gone!
