Donald Lindsey

Obituary of Donald Earl Lindsey

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; (King James Version online Ecclesiastes 3:1-4).

Donald Earl Lindsey passed away at his residence on Saturday July 29, 2023, at the age of sixty-three. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and cousin.

Donald is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on January 22, 1960. He attended Manzano High School and earned his high school diploma in 1979. Donald was well-known for his athletic abilities, and once broke the high school’s record of athletic accomplishment. He played a variety of sports; however, running and football was his most favorite activities. After high school he went to the army, which was in 1979 as well. He served for a few years as the military police in Baumholder Germany.

Further, our brother loved to listen to music, dance, and snap his fingers to the beat. He loved children and enjoyed spending time with his friends. Donald was a comical, friendly, and social person. He spoke to everyone and engaged in many social events. He was the light of the party, as he would dress like a cowboy, wearing his tight blue jeans, cowboy hat, and cowboy boots. He would twirl around in a circle on the dance floor using his imaginary lasso. He was a great entertainer. Don had amazing strength and was great at body building. He believed in staying fit and lifting weights on a regular basis. One of Donald’s most amazing strengths lives in the fact that he was a fighter. He fought a good fight until the very end.

Lastly, Donald is preceded in death by his grandfather’s Cleotha Lindsey and Sergeant Willie Banks, his grandmother’s Estella Scott and Ada Mae Banks and his aunt Thelma Lee Thomas. Also, he is preceded in death by his parents Edward L. Lindsey Sr., and Willie B. Lindsey, his siblings Mary Ann Lindsey, Robert Lee Lindsey, and his niece Denice Lindsey. Nevertheless, Don is survived by his siblings, Edward L. Lindsey Jr., Dan Lindsey, Joesph Lindsey, Charles Lindsey, Darlene Lindsey, and a host of relatives. Please feel free to celebrate the life of our brother at his childhood home on August 22, 2023, at 6:00 pm.
