Obituary of Gloria Vicens
On August 22nd 2023 our lovely and wild spirited mother, Gloria Vicens was reunited with her Lord and Savior along with her stud of a husband, John, in heaven. Heaven now has their beautiful dancing angel amongst them.
Gloria was born on August 13th 1944 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to her amazing parents Emelda and Lito Leyba. In 1963 her beloved cousin Nolan would take her on an adventure of a lifetime and because of this she would move to California. There she would find a love that could not be denied and they had two beautiful blessings, DeAnna and Bobbie. The loves of their lives. Later in 1977 their little family moved to New Mexico where Gloria paved the way for women everywhere. She would go on to rock the world of employment and become the first woman Linehaul Supervisor for ABF and was the highest paid woman in that position. Gloria would go on to retire from there. She was a force to be reckoned with. A woman who knew what she had and tried to never miss a day where she could throw some sass in much needed directions. No matter what Gloria did, she did it with a hard head and the Lord close to her heart. Whether it was to go to the casinos on mondays, garage sales with her husband, Las vegas for a good time or to just enjoy a family dinner at home she was always a wonderful passionate person who could lift your spirits. And whenever you find yourself in a valley of hard times or you find yourselves on top of the mountains of glory take grandma's advice “Pray and give it to God and don't worry everything will be okay” or "thanks be to God, hallelujah!”. If you dont take that advice you are “OUT TO LUNCH''. We lost a God fearing woman who meant the world to us but I know God gained the most glorious treasure to ever enter the gates of heaven. She is home. WE LOVE YOU and Vaya con Dios.
Gloria is preceded in death by her soulmate and true love, her husband John Vicens, her spiritual guides and wonderful parents Emelda and Lito Leyba, her brother Lee Leyba and her nieces Paulette Block and June Aragon. She is survived by her two loving and amazing children DeAnna Vicens and Bobbie Brown. Her son-in-love Calvin Brown. Her wonderful strong headed Grandchildren Jozette, Jonnel, Jollena Vicens, Jovonna Vicens Soto (Husband Matt), Kim Olivas (Husband Ralph Olivas) and Michelle Black (Partner Timo). The lights of her life great grandchildren Alora Vicens, LeiaMarie and Johnathan (John) Vicens Soto, Sydney, Alisha, Alex Flores, RaeLee, Grayson, and Kashton Olivas, Scarlet and Josiah Anaya and a sweet great great grandchild Nyah Aguirre. She is also survived by her brother Clyde Leyba (wife Lillian Leyba) and family. Sister-in-law Dolly Leyba and family , sister Viola Leyba and family, her sassy niece Dewan Campbell Jones (husband Thomas Jones) and family and two boneheaded nephews David Dominici (wife Yvette) and family and Victor Dale Dominici and family and so so many more.
