Obituary of William P Irizarry
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of William Paul Irizarry, at the age of 68, on the 15th day of August 2023.
"Willie" as most of his friends knew him, was born in Brooklyn New York on December 11, 1954 to Carlos and Maria Irizarry and was the eldest of 6 siblings. Willie graduated from William E. Grady High School and went on to pursue a career in mechanics and as an electrician. He moved to California where he worked for a well-known aircraft company by the name of Northrop Gruman. He worked many jobs throughout his life and would later retire from the La Habra City School District in Southern California.
After his retirement he moved to Rio Rancho, New Mexico which was his final resting place. Willie enjoyed working on his Camaros, playing with his hobby trains, going to car shows-but was the happiest riding his Harley with his friends. He was the type of person that would drop everything to help his friends and loved ones in any way he could. He would often take a hot meal and a cold beer as payment for his services. He loved being the life of any party and enjoyed his Jack Daniels.
William is survived by his only daughter, Julianne Boothe, granddaughter’s, Kayla A. Walsh and Brooklynn I. Keogh, his mother, Maria Irizarry and his siblings; Jeanette Gonzalez, Carlos Irizarry, Mildred Marshall, Huda Kanston and James Irizarry.
It was his wish to be cremated and his ashes spread along Route 66, as he felt the most freedom on the open road.
Ride among the angels, you are now free.
