Obituary of Laura Marquez

Laura Marquez was called to heaven on August 25th, 2023. She was 5 days short of her 85th birthday. She was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. She was a proud member of the Catholic Church all her life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, dancing, traveling, music, and spending time with her loved ones. She was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone that had the honor to come in her path. Laura’s greatest love was her family. Laura was the proud mother of 8 children. Her children are proud to call her Mom. Laura is proceeded in death by: her mother, Ninfa Gonzales, her father, Pollo Gonzales, her uncle, Ralph Tafoya, her sons, Servando “Sonny” Gutierrez and Donald Gutierrez, her grandson, Fabian Gutierrez, her great-grandson, Christian Candelaria, her mother-in-law, Manuela Tena, and her brother-in-law, Alonso Marquez. Laura is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Armando Marquez, her brother, Tony Gonzalez, and her 6 children: Tillie, Louise, Debbie, Pat, Randy, and Armando. She was also survived by her 36 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren along with their spouses and her nieces and nephews. She loved them ALL deeply. Laura’s grandson’s will serve as her pallbearers.

Holy Father, Eternal, and Almighty God, we ask you for Laura, whom you called from this world. Give her happiness, light and peace. May she, having passed through death, participate in eternal light with the saints, as you promised Abraham and his descendants. May her soul suffer no more and deign to resurrect her with the saints on the day of resurrection and reward. Forgive her sins and wash away their stains so that she may reach immortal life with you in the eternal kingdom.

Visitation is on Friday, September 01, 2023, thru Monday, September 4th, 2023, at Laura and Armando’s home. (126 50th NW 87105)

A Rosary will be held at Laura and Armando’s home on Sunday, September 3rd, 2023, at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services Viewing -Rosary -Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 5th, 8 a.m., at Holy Family Church (562 Atrisco RD Albuquerque, NM 87105).

Burial will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery (2957 Arenal Rd SW 87121).
