Obituary of Harlan C. Cherne

On Friday, September 8, 2023, Harly Cherne, loving husband and father of three children, passed away peacefully at 63 in his home.

Harley was born on July 24, 1960 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky to Harlan and Monte. He attended Palo Duro High School and received his G.E.D in 1981. Harley held a variety of occupations throughout his life, but primarily drove for a taxi company in Albuquerque, New Mexico. On February 17, 1983, he married Jeanette Burns. They raised one Daughter, Gina and one Son, Donovan.

Harley exhibited a strong passion for rock music and demonstrated a propensity for collecting a diverse assortment of Rush memorabilia. His lifelong passion was grilling hamburgers and steaks for his family. The majority of his time was spent at home, observing birds and playing with his dogs in the backyard.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeanette; daughter, Gina; sons, Donovan & KC, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Riverside Funeral Home located at 820 Main St NE, Los Lunas NM at 10a.m.
