Arline Scudieri passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was 77.
Arline was born on January 25, 1946 in Coleman, TX to Ralph and Virginia Scudieri. She moved with her family to Hurst, TX in the 1950’s. She was a 1964 graduate of LD Bell High School, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She was heavily involved in dance throughout her youth and won numerous competitions. Arline received her degree in Education from North Texas State University in 1968 and immediately began her career in teaching. She taught P.E. and Biology at three schools in HEB ISD and P.E. in Boyd ISD. Her teaching career spanned 16 years, only taking a few years off when her oldest daughter, Ashlea was born through her first marriage. In 1976, she met Loretta Day and for the rest of her life, Arline and Loretta were inseparable. They moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1984 and Arline began her career at U-Haul. She retired earlier this year after 38 years. Arline and Loretta raised two daughters, Myranda and Kayla. Arline loved her family, friends, poodles, and going on camping trips in their RV.
Arline had a passion for Christ and studying His Word. Later in life, she played the drums and assisted in the praise and worship team in her church. She also liked to play the tambourine at the services when she was able. She was known for being “Arline real”…always telling it “like it is”.
Arline was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Virginia Scudieri.
