Obituary of Regina Mary Maestas

Born on December 26, 1953 In Flagstaff, Arizona to Ruben and Martha Serna Passed away on September 21, 2023 a t her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The world lost a loving wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. She touched the lives of many and was loved by many. Regina is survived by her husband Nicholas, daughter Rachel, son Christopher, sister Yolanda, and nine grandchildren. Dominic, Devin, Destiny, Alexis, Desirea, Alysa, Mars, Ava, and Christopher Jr. She was predeceased by her Father Ruben Serna, Mother Martha Serna, and sister Denise Tafoya.

Regina always tried to have a positive attitude. She was generous and would give, even if it was the last dollar in her wallet. She cherished her grandchildren and would do anything for them. She was a genuine woman. She cared about everyone. Regina was quick to forgive, and not hold on to grudges. She had a sweet soul. She was the best mom, and the best grandma to all her grand kids. She was considerate and empathetic to everyone's feelings.

Regina most recently lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico with Nick Maestas, her husband of 45 years. She liked New Mexican food and gospel music. Her true passion was “horses”. She loved everything about horses just like her sisters. Regina always wanted to visit Las Vegas and travel to Paris, although she was happy wherever she was as long as her family was near. Regina liked to watch football even if she was lost trying to follow the game. Her favorite team was the Denver Broncos, because of horses. Her heart was filled with love and compassion for others. She will be greatly missed.

Services for Regina Maestas -

A Rosary followed by a Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday October 6th , 2023, at the Shrine of Saint Bernadette. The address is 11509 Indian School Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. The time of service will be from 9:30AM to 11:00AM. After the services, family and friends are welcome to join together next door at the Parish Hall. There will be a potluck style reception.
