Obituary of Felicia Nichole Gurule

Our beautiful angel, Felicia N. Gurule, age 38, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, surrounded by her family and close friends. Felicia was born on October 19, 1984.

Felicia is survived by her parents, Larry & Lorraine Gurule, her daughter, Alexandra (Lexi) Martinez and her son, Antonio (Tony) Martinez and their father Jose Martinez, her brother Desi Gurule and her sister, Racquel Gurule. Felicia is also survived by one grandmother, Cecilia Gurule. She is also survived by Uncles, Steve Gurule and Ernest (Doris) Martinez, Aunts, Sandra (Bill) Varela, Becky (Patrick) LeFaive, Sheila Gurule (Gene Johnson), and Jeannette Martinez, Nieces, Mya & Aurora Green, and Cousins, Josh Martinez, Angela Gurule, Sarah Rogowski, Sylvia (Kristy) Marquez, Jayson Varela, Gabe Varela, Ernest Vigil Jr., & Jeremy Vigil, several second cousins, and very many close and longtime special friends. Felicia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Eloisa Martinez and Reyes Gurule. She was also preceded in death by her Aunt Deena Gurule, and Uncles Tony Martinez and Lawrence Martinez.

Felicia was a member of the Catholic Church. She graduated from Valley High School in 2003 and lettered all 4 years in volleyball & softball and excelled academically. She attended NM Highlands for 2 years and continued playing softball. She will be remembered for her smile, laugh, being an excellent cook and her bright disposition. She always enjoyed watching her children participating in sports, especially Tony in YAFL Football and Lexi in Cheerleading. She also really enjoyed watching her nieces Aurora & Mya participating in softball and volleyball. She especially enjoyed holidays and always loved decorating, especially for Halloween and Christmas.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the entire team in the MICU at UNMH hospital. Thank you for the exceptional care you took of Felicia in her last days and hours. And for your professionalism, kindness, compassion, and accommodation toward grieving friends and family members in one of the most difficult times of our lives: the loss of our beloved Felicia. A Rosary, followed by Mass, will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at San Felipe de Neri Church, 2005 Plaza St. NW, (Old Town), Albuquerque, NM. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOLLOWING INTERMENT WILL BE HELD AT-

American Legion Post 13

1201 Legion Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102

1:00 pm-4:00 pm.
