Obituary of John Albert Danielson

John Albert Danielson, longtime resident of Santa Fe and Los Alamos, most recently, Albuquerque, NM was received into his savior's arms, September 10, 2023. Leaving his family and friends to grieve. 

It is with deep sorrow and overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of Navy Veteran, John Albert Danielson. 

John was the second son of Alan W and Marjorie E (Wright) Danielson, born on August 23, 1948, in Council Grove, Kansas.

He grew up in Santa Fe, attended Wood Gormley Elementary, Harrington JR. High and graduated from Santa Fe High School

Immediately after graduation in 1967, John was accepted as Airman Apprentice, USN, serving aboard the Attack Aircraft carrier USS Lexington- CVT 16- BLUE GHOST, during the Vietnam Era. The Lexington was Anti-submarine warfare Aircraft carrier, redesignated Training Aircraft carrier (CVT16), ON January 1, 1969. John was  a member of the American Legion, Frank G Frainier Post 90, Los Alamos.

John was a security guard for properties in Santa Fe. One memorable tenure was working security at the old, vacant, St. Vincent Hospital rumored at the time as being haunted.

Later he worked at the State Capital, facilities mgmnt. He was the manager of the Valle Del Arroyo Radio Shack in Espanola, NM, before his working for Kerr McGee corp in Los Alamos. 

John is predeceased by his son Michael Desmond James Danielson, parents Alan and Marjorie, nephew Alan P Danielson; Loving companion of many years Alice W Martinez Johnson. 

He enjoyed spending time with family on fishing trips, picnics, sight- seeing historic sights, tinkering with- repairing or building projects like his favorite miniature trains and wood furniture.

John delighted in the short time and cherished moments with his granddaughter, Micah, great grandson, Desmond and his beloved daughter Melony. 

He is survived by his son and daughter Nick Alan and Melony Danielson, his brother and sisters; Clifford, wife Carol, Doris, husband Harlie Outler, Helen, husband Warren Skiles; grandchildren: Micah Lopez Danielson, Bella, Marcie, Xavier, Krista (Andrew) Johnson, Christopher (Jennifer) Saulnier; great grandchildren: Desmond James Romero, Remington Johnson nieces and nephews: Cora Danielson, Christine (Dorian) Hicklin; great grand nephew and nieces: Kane P Danielson, Lauren Hicklin, Lila and Mari; mother of his children Nora Lopez (Vialpando).

Military Honors will be held at a later date.
