Freddie Martinez

Obituary of Freddie S Martinez

On October 22nd, 2023 Freddie S. Martinez was called home to Heaven to join his loving wife, Lorraine Martinez.

Freddie was born September 8th, 1948 to Trinidad and Nestora Martinez in Albuquerque, NM.  Freddie graduated from Rio Grande High School, Class of 1967.  He joined the United Stated Army where he proudly served his Country.  After returning from the US Army, he met and married Lorraine on October 26th, 1975 and they shared one daughter together, Mary Therese.  Freddie loved the outdoors during his time, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Many fishing trips he would always pack a lunch in his fanny pack and would go find the good fishing spots and always return with many fish in hand.  He also enjoyed doing wood working projects and always had a new cross for his family every time they would see him.  He would ways talk about the next ones he would plan on making.  Freddie was big sports fan.  He loved his Los Angelas Dodgers, and was always ready to watch his beloved Dallas Cowboys play.  Win or lose, he believed every year, was their year.  Freddie also enjoyed spending his free time at the local casino, and was never one to be told twice to go there.

Freddie enjoyed spending time with his family, and was always the first one to any family function. Freddie would always brag about his grand kids to everyone he talked to, and truly enjoyed being their Tata. Everyone always looked forward to seeing Freddie and talking sports or outdoors with him.  He was always asking about other peoples family every chance he had.  Freddie was truly a caring person for anyone he came in touch with, and he left an ever lasting impression on them as well.

Freddie was able to light up any room he walked into and made everyone feel welcomed and loved by him.  When he spoke to someone, he always made them feel as if they were one of the most important people in his life and genuinely cared about what they had to say.  He will be truly missed by everyone, and the loss of his presence will never go unnoticed.

He is survived by daughter Mary T. Romero (Clorindo). Granddaughters Crystal Lujan (Roman), Desiree Romero (Juan) and grandson Jonathan Romero (Molly). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren Dominica Lujan, James Lujan, Destini Lujan, Roman (RJ) Lujan Jr, Xavier Romero and Jacob Romero, whom he loved with all his heart. He is also survived by his brothers Rudy Martinez and Leroy Martinez (Clydine), and many other loving God-Children, nieces, nephews and cousins.
