Obituary of Dolores Evangeline Benavidez

Benavidez, Dolores Evangeline

August 8, 1937 – October 25, 2023

Age 86, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend was embraced by the Lord and taken to her heavenly home with her loving husband by her side early Wednesday morning, October 25, 2023.  Dolores passed away peacefully after she courageously battled a lengthy illness.

Dolores was born on August 8, 1937 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Elisa Vialpando and Carlos Sisneros. She spent her early years growing up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before making Los Alamos, N.M. her “true” home in 1962. She attended  St. Marys High School where she met her husband Robert, the love of her life.  After marrying and starting a family, she moved to several towns throughout New Mexico because of her husband’s construction jobs, and finally settling down in Los Alamos where Dolores dedicated her life to her husband, daughters, and many Lifelong friends, until her husband retired.  After retirement she moved to Laughlin, Nevada, where she enjoyed her time working at Golden Nugget as Promotion Coordinator, where she made many new friends.  Dolores then wanted to be closer to her family by relocating to Rio Rancho, NM. Dolores loved being a wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and was genuinely loved and a friend to every person she met. Dolores loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, doing puzzles, cooking for family, and going to the casinos, especially the casino that was 5 minutes from her home that she referred to as “Across the Street”.   She will be deeply missed by her loving family and by those whose hearts she touched.
