James Lynch, III

Obituary of James Francis Xavier Lynch, III

On Monday, November 6, 2023, James Francis Xavier Lynch III, eldest brother of seven passed away at age 65.

James, known by most as Jim, was born on April 14, 1958 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to James and Guadalupe (Baca) Lynch.  Following high school, he worked as manager of local movie theaters and then enlisted into the army and served over four years as a linguist, most of that time overseas in Germany.  Upon returning to New Mexico he enrolled and completed his bachelor's degree at the University of New Mexico.

Jim, known quite well by those closest to him, had a passion for reading and classical music.  He maintained a wonderful collection of all the music concerts he attended over the years. He also had a very keen eye for observing nature, architecture and people as displayed in the photography he would share with friends and family. He was very well-known for his wry and witty sense of humor and wonderfully focused conversations, making you feel as that time with him was very important to him.

Jim was proceeded in death by his father, James, and his mother Guadalupe. He is survived by his six siblings, Mary, Thomas, Catherine, John, Michael, and Robert, as well as uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. A rosary and funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at San Isidro Church on 3694 Agua Fria St, Santa Fe, NM 87507 at 9:30 a.m.  A military ceremony will follow the church service at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
