Obituary of Rose Herrera

Rose Herrera age 75, a resident of Dixon passed away on April 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at her side after a lengthy illness. She was born on September 16, 1948 in Embudo, NM.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents Gilberto and Adela Martinez, sister Marcella Trujillo and brother Alex Martinez, father of her children Johnny Herrera.

She is survived by her children Valerie and Alex Herrera of Dixon; grandson Nathan Herrera of Dixon; individuals she considered as grandsons Ralph (Ohhku) Salazar and Isaiah Martinez; brother Gilbert Martinez (Elaine) of Dixon; Aunts Ramona Fernandez (Barolin) of Rio Lucio and Maria Inez Martinez of Chimayo, Uncle Carlos Atencio of Pueblo Colorado; Niece Lucinda Velasquez (Gabriel) of Albuquerque and Nephew Lawrence Martinez (Lisa) of Albuquerque. She also leaves behind her adored dog Blanca. Individuals also close to her heart are Emily Harrington, Trisa Sandoval (Louie); Anabeth and Joleen Lovato, and many other relatives and friends.

Per her wishes a cremation will be taking place and no services will be held.

The family would like to give a huge thanks to her caregiver Melissa Armijo, Taos Healthcare, and Mountain Home Health Care Hospice, especially her hospice nurse Donna Cappadonia.
