Obituary of David Ray Lopez

David Ray Lopez, passed away on April, 14th 2024, at the age of 63. He was born November 20, 1960 to Richard and Trinidad Lopez in Manzano NM. He graduated from Mountainaire Highschool in 1979, where he excelled and lettered in track.

 

He moved to Albuquerque after graduation, where he later raised his 2 children Marla & David with then wife Margie Chavez Lopez and begin a career in the funeral business at Stronge Thorne Mortuary. While building a career in the funeral industry David also proudly served his state as a Sandoval County Sheriff's Officer. Later he would retire as manager of Fairview Memorial & Sandia Memory Gardens.

 

David had a passion for motorcycles, drag racing, hunting, fishing, & the Denver Broncos. He lived every moment to the fullest and enjoyed joking, making others smile and playing music on his Alexa. 

 

David is preceded in death by his wife Carla Lopez, his parents Richard & Trinidad Lopez, and siblings Angie, Richard "Jr.", Max, and Orlandito Lopez. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his daughter Marla & her fiancé Mario, his son David and his wife Selena, & his four grandchildren Alazae, Alexus, David, and Serena Lopez.  He is also survived by his brothers Edward, Nick, Michael, Larry & his wife Rosalyn, and his sisters, Thelma & husband Steven Griego, Delfhina and husband Marty Garcia , Martha & husband Ernest Padilla, Viola & husband James Smith and Jamie Lopez. He also has many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews & friends who love him and will miss him dearly.

 

Services to be held at "Our Lady Of Sorrows" church in Manzano New Mexico. Date and time to be posted soon.
