Erwin Coe

Obituary of Erwin Fred Coe

Erwin Fred Coe was born July 2, 1935, in Stockton, NY.  The fourth child of five, he came from very humble beginnings on the family-owned farm. After finishing high school, he moved to Stoneham, MA and began working as an X-ray technician at New England Memorial Hospital.  There he met his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Boyd; they were happily married 61 years and had three children: Brian, Laureen, and Bradlee.  He is preceded in death by his parents Elwood (George) and Lois, brothers Herb and Paul, wife Betty, and son Brian.  He is survived by sisters Irene and Donna, children Bradlee and Laureen, grandchildren Emilee, Zeona, Cameron, Devin, Elyssa, and Carly, two great-grandchildren Preslee and Ellis, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Erwin Coe was loved by everyone who knew him, and he left a mark on everyone he encountered.  He was an incredible, God-fearing man, loyal husband, loving father, and doting Papa. He was a man of few words, but those few words carried incredible wisdom and meaning. Those who survive him will miss his kind and calm spirit, carry the joy he brought them, and pass down the words of advice he offered to their children and loved ones. The impact he had will not end with his passing, but will ripple through those who hold him in their hearts for generations.

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family wishes for only prayers of healing and the sharing of happy, loving memories shared with Erwin.
