Obituary of Johnny Contreras

Contreras, Johnny, age 70, was born in Socorro, New Mexico January 19, 1942. Our beloved father, brother and grandfather was called home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2012. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary following at 7:00 PM all at Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque, located at 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 309 Stover Avenue SW on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM with public viewing from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Johnny is survived by a very large family of seven children; daughter Michelle Padilla and husband Johnny, daughter Lisa Villareal and late husband Hilario; daughter Shirley Campos; son, Johnny Contreras Jr. and wife Antoinette. He has two brothers, Florencio and Joe Contreras and one sister Margie Garcia. He also has 13 grandchildren: Tomas, Samantha, Little Larry, Michael, Joshua, Ray-J, Silas, Brianna, Sabrina, Angela, Natashia, Zandria and Jenny. He has 6 great-grandchildren; 5 nieces: Liz, Florence, Roseanna, Antoinette and Angela and 1 nephew, Santos, Jr. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Josie Contreras as well as his lifelong love, Marlene R.
