Obituary of Mary De Los Angeles Vigil

Mary De Los Angeles Vigil, age 92, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 10, 2013 surrounded by her family in Albuquerque, NM. Mary was born August 2, 1921 to her late parents, Eduardo and Emerenciana Navarro in Arzobispado de Guadalajara, Mexico. She came to the United States as a baby, briefly resided in Staten Island, NY as a young woman and lived the remainder of her life in Albuquerque, NM. Mary was an extraordinary woman of faith, an amazing cook and always supported her family with love and hard work. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Lucero of Chilili, NM and her second husband Jose Vigil of Embudo, NM. Mary is survived by her daughters, Gloria Sanchez, wife of Joe Sanchez, Betty Serafin, wife of the late Roger Serafin, Denise Silva-Perea, wife of Jerry Perea; sisters Helen Barela, wife of the late Alfred Barela, Pauline Congleton, wife of Marvin Congleton, brother Joe Muniz, husband of Elsie Muniz; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.There will be a viewing at 6:00 PM followed by recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel, located at 225 San Mateo Blvd, NE.
