Obituary of Connie Jo Derry

Connie Jo Derry, age 67, born June 23, 1946 and a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014. Throughout her life Mrs. Derry lived a life of unwavering commitment to her husband, family, and God. In life she accomplished the true virtues of a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Although she was one who gladly chose to remain out of the spotlight her actions spoke loudly about her love for all. She was happy serving others alongside her husband in ministry. Not only did she serve our community but untold lives were touched by her actions throughout the U.S. A "heart of gold" is what we, who were fortunate to be around her, saw being displayed time and time again. Although we mourn her departure from this earth, we know that heaven celebrated her arrival. We look forward to reuniting again.......'til then. Mrs. Derry was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lena Belle Roberts. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Phillip Derry; daughters, Rebecca Derry-Villasenor and husband, Hector, Joanna Clark, and Belinda Spicer; son, Phillip Derry II and wife, Aimee; brother, Lloyd Roberts II and wife, Georgia; and thirteen grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 5:00 PM at Azusa Assembly of God, located at 201 Valencia Dr. NE, with a Funeral Service to be celebrated at 7:00 PM with Hector Villasenor, officiating.
