Obituary of Tony Garcia

Tony Garcia, age 68, passed peacefully to be with Our Lord on February 21, 2014. He resided in Edgewood NM and was born in Magdelena NM. Tony was an excellent mechanic and avid fisherman. He enjoyed gardening being outdoors, and shared much of his talents with family and friends. Tony also enjoyed watching cartoons and Little House on the Prairie with his grandchildren. He retired in 1996 from the City of Albuquerque after 28 years of devoted service. Tony was preceded in death by his son, Edward Joe Anthony Garcia in 2009; his parents, Mercedes Joe and Paublita Garcia; brothers, Ramon Garcia a Vietnam Vet killed in 1968 and Santos Garcia; sister-in-law, Bennie Ann Luna; niece, Debbie Ortiz; sister-in-law, Janet Serino; father-in-law, Edgar Serino; and mother-in-law, Pauline Serino. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Lorraine K. Serino-Garcia; daughter, Tina (Terry) Shadden; daughter-in-law, Thelma Garcia; granddaughters, Natasha (Michael) Ellis, Alicia Lopez, Desiray (Abram) Apodaca; grandsons, Diego Lopez, Peter Espinosa (Elizabeth); four great-grandchildren; sisters, Isabel (Augustine) caco Aranda, Emily Garcia, Marcelena Garcia, Rose Mary (Fred Gomez), Mabel (Armando) Teran; sister-in-law, Margie Garcia; brothers, Chester Garcia (Liz), Edward Garcia and Pete Garcia; brother-in-law, John L. Serino and partner Marcella; Leonard Serino, (Lorraine's twin) and special sister-in-law, Christine Bean Serino as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thanks to the 4th floor nurses and staff and especially Jaimie, Liz, Elizabeth, Regina and Niomi. All services will be held at Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque, beginning with a visitation on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 6:00 PM, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 10:00 AM, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John L. Serino, Diego Lopez, Michael Ellis, Pete Aranda, Chester Garcia, Edward Garcia and Armando Teran. Honorary Pallbearers will be Natasha Ellis and Alicia Lopez.
