Obituary of Axel Graves Frost

Axel Graves Frost entered this world on January 20, 1943 in Edmondson, Arkansas. She was the third eldest child of Cornelius and Ceolia Graves. Her father, mother, two brother's and three sisters preceded her in death. She moved with her family to Chicago, Illinois where she began her formal education. She graduated from Lucy flowers high school with honors. After graduation she moved to New York and started working for chase Manhattan bank. On February 1, 1972 she joined the Army. Doing her tour of duties she was assigned a post in Germany, where she worked as a Military Police. Honorable discharged on January 22, 1975. Axel returned to Chicago, IL and became a Cook County Sheriff's Deputy. Her son Calvin was born November 14, 1979 soon after she moved to El Paso, Texas to continue her education at El Paso Community College. There she earned a degree in Applied Science and Special Education. Axel worked for a while in the El Paso Public School system. There in El Paso Axel met and married John Frost in 1989 Axel and her family moves out to Albuquerque, New Mexico and began working for the Albuquerque Public School System until she retired. After retiring from APS Axel went to work for Parents Behaviorally Different Children. At PBDC she worked with her friend Delfy. She enjoyed visiting parents and their children through out of New Mexico. Axel accepted Christ at an early age and often visited many churches in the area. Albuquerque was home to Axel and if there was ever a person that loved a city it would be Axel. She would often say it was a big beautiful City and the mountain was her favorite place. On Monday morning October 28, 2013 God decided that her work was done on earth and called his child home. She leaves to celebrate her memories her son, Calvin Robinson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother, Cornelius Graves (Lanora) of Hammond, Indiana and Chicago, ILL; her favored niece, Charlotte Renee Davenport (Darrell) of Chicago, ILL; niece, Rhonda Flood( Derick) of North Carolina; nephew, Cornelius Graves III( Mikki), Of Chicago, ILL; nephews, Andre Graves of Chicago, ILL, Leon Gaston of Chicago, ILL, Niece, Eleanor Shane Flowers(Denis) Of Burbank, California, two Aunts, Arnetta Jackson of Detroit, Mitch and Mattie Barge of Detroit, Michigan; sixteen grandnephews and nieces; ten great-grand nieces, and nephews and a host of cousins, relatives and friends, nephew James Graves(Mallika) of Chicago, ILL. A Memorial Service in her honors will be held on Friday November 8, 2013 at Riverside Funeral Home, located at 225 San Mateo Blvd., Albuquerque, NM at 10:00 AM. Axel will be entombed on Veterans Day November 11, 2013 at Santa Fe National Cemetary at 10:30 AM with Military honors. Arrangements entrusted to Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque, (505)764-9663.
