Obituary of Bernadette \"Bern\" Lerma De'Chavez

Bernadette "Bern" Lerma De'Chavez, completed her life's journey on this earth on Saturday, December 17, 2011. She was called by her Lord Jesus Christ, and she leaves behind her loving husband and best friend Martin "Marty" Chavez; her parents, Alex and Nettie Lerma whom she adored; devoted sister, Veronica "Ron" Lerma; beloved brothers, Ruben "Rube" and his wife Patsy, Phillip "Beeb" and his wife Barbara and the youngest Theodore "Teddy". Bernadette was preceded in death by her dear brother Samuel "Sam" who most graciously led her to Jesus Christ whom she served all of her days. Bernadette had no children of her own but had a mother daughter bond with her niece Jennifer "Jenny" Barajas. She so loved her nieces Hollie Anderson, Natalie, Melanie, and Sabrina Lerma and her nephews Adam, Chris and Isaac Lerma. Bernadette was loved by her family and was adored by all who knew her. Bernadette reached out to people who were broken and brought them to the grace of God countless times. Her generosity on this earth was far reaching, and she can now relish in the words of our Savior "Well done my good and faithful servant". Services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Chapel, 4001Osuna NE. Bernadette will be laid to rest following the service at Santa National Cemetery at 1:30 PM. Arrangements entrusted to Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque, 225 San Mateo NE.
