Obituary of Fernando M. Lucero

Fernando M. Lucero, 80, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at his home in Los Lunas surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer. Fernando was a family man. Family was very important to him…he loved camping, fishing, and doing things around the yard. Fernando retired from the City of Albuquerque in 1982. He and his wife Isidorita lived in Albuquerque until November 2000 when they moved to Los Lunas. Fernando was preceded in death by his son Fernando Lucero Jr., his parents Raymundo and Raquel Lucero, and two brothers Flamineo and Pete Lucero. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Isidorita Lucero, sister Petrita Saiz, brother Lionel Lucero, daughter Ellen Lovato, son Raymond Lucero and wife Lisa, son Larry Lucero, son Rick Lucero and wife Victoria. He is also survived by his grandchildren Erica Candelaria and husband Eric, Felicia Lovato, Angie Aragon and husband Adam, Gilbert Lovato Jr., Larry Lucero Jr., Raymond Lucero II and wife Amy, Joseph Lucero and wife Crystal, Brandy Lucero, Rick Lucero Jr. and wife Alexandra, April Lucero, Gilbert Sanchez, and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Fernando was a great man and will truly be missed, he touched everyone he knew in one way or another…he was an inspiration to our family. Thank you to all who visited him at home during his illness. The family will receive friends at 5:30pm on Friday, September 28th at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel of Los Lunas, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00pm.
