Obituary of Tranquilino Martinez

Tranquilino Martinez, 91 years of age, born in Trementina, NM, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Martinez was a proud veteran of World War II and served proudly aboard the USS Pennsylvania in the United States Navy. He was welcomed into the arms of his wife of 50 years Adelicia, who preceded him in death 15 years ago. Mr. Martinez was also preceded in death by his two sons, Juanito and Cruz. He is survived by son, Max Telles (Leonor); daughters, June Johnson (Leonard), Clara Garcia (Charles) and Alma Romero (David); 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. All services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, beginning with viewing on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 5:00 PM, followed by recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 9:00 AM, with a reception to follow at the Parish Hall. Mr. Martinez will be laid to rest on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 11:15 AM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with United States Navy Honors. Pallbearers will be Charles Garcia, David Romero, Aaron Romero, Marcos Johnson, Vince Telles, and Gabriel Telles.
